The first thing that came to my mind when I read Sera's post about 'marriage troubles' and divorce (not involving her lah, don't get yourself worked up over nothing), is that, what are the reasons stopping a woman from getting a divorce?
I'm not married, but having heard more than enough share of marriage-related stories that could, and should, scare people off nuptials (yes, let's hear it from someone who hope to get hitched sometime in the future too, and still does. Methinks i'm not existentialist enough to lose hope. haha), I could probably offer my 2 cents of worth on why women prefer not to get divorce.
One, there's still, sadly, the stigma of being a janda. Mass media and the local community unofficial media still make it a scandalous issue these days. And some people would rather live veiled in unhappiness rather than become the talk of the community. Thing is, it's been there since the beginning of time, and chances are, it still is going to be there for as long as there are gossip-mongers. If you live your life based on how people look at you, say about you and worse, judge you, you'll find yourself not being able to live at all.
Two, there are also cases of financial commitments. Ever heard of husband making loans on the wife's names? There are many, and I have even listened to the wife saying that she doesn't mind and it's okay. Honestly? NO, IT IS NOT OKAY. Financial commitment will prevent you from escaping him if you need to, and even if you did, you'll be paying for his debts all your life. How is that cool with anyone, is out of the limit of my thinking. Working hard everyday 5 days a week and sometime even more than that, only to give the money away to a jerk. Wow, if you're that generous, donate it to charity, build an orphanage or something. At least that wouldn't be a waste.
Three, there's also the question of financial dependency. Girls nowadays are smart. They populate the best schools and colleges and universities. But once they get the certs, they stay at home and do nothing. And when the husbands ditch them, suddenly they found themselves with certs but no working experience and too old to compete with the fresh grads. And before happily married stay-at-home moms start bashing me for saying this, please remember that not every husband in this world is as great as yours. While your husband is undoubtedly a great man for supporting you financially while you nurture the kids, there are also a whole lot of jerks out there who asked their wives not to work, and then hook up with the pretty colleague at work.
All I'm saying is, circumstances differ for each woman, and all we can do is to prepare ourselves for it.
If you've spent countless years in the education system to learn stuff and get certs out of it, use it. No one plant a tree just to see it rot and die. We harvest it and eat the fruits. If you ever love a man, be prepared to hate him. Not that I'm saying that you shouldn't love him as much, but humans change, honey. They do. And hey, here's news for you, we do too.
I also acknowledge the fact that different women may have different ideas about marriage and men whom they choose to love. Hey, nothing wrong with that, honey. But there's gotta be a line drawn somewhere. Especially financially. Because let's face it, if you're left without a place or a person to depend on financially, what's going to happen to you? And it is unfortunate to be stuck in an unhappy, or even abusive marriage, just because you wouldn't be able to support yourself if you ever get out of it. Worse if you're left with debts, all of them not yours to begin with.
When people say love ain't about money, what they really meant to say is that love ain't about giving him your money, and you better listen to it.

What now?
Still very much sick. Still coughing like mad, and my throat is abused.
Mom's coming back tonight. House is still in a mess.
Met Dr. F yesterday. She advised me to stop working. And she wrote this advise in the research and extension form, sure to be read by Prof. Q, and I'm sure I'm gonna get a taste of the medicine today. Hooray.
Need to get better, need to tidy up the house, need to get my priorities straight.
Even if it means living a frugal life? Oh God, I've said this too many times but I've failed spectacularly each time too.
What now?

Some things will never change.
No one writes when they're happy. Happiness is boring and a source of envy. Unhappiness is more interesting and agreeable. When you read, you want to relate. People's misfortune make you feel grateful for your not-so-sorry-after-all state, and allow you that little bit of evil called catharsis. Reading about others' fortunes will make you want things you don't have in your life, and isn't it enough that you're constantly reminded of these things anyway without having to read other people gloat and bask in their glorious lives?
Thus marks my return to this blog. 2 more days to night curfews, constant reporting of whereabouts and doings, actual daily house chores, killing myself over the nonexistant thesis, wishing I can move out and live alone, et cetera. Please backtrack through this blog if you want some taste of what to come.
(After years of doing this, I wish I could say that I don't whine in my blog, but that's long coming)
Welcome back reality. I wish I don't have to struggle with you every day.

Butterfly dreams.
It's dreamy, fairy-tale like, and I LOVE IT.
What's best about it is the reversal of 'reality', how GD is 'real' in his imaginary kingdom but an animation in the 'real' world.
And it's animated. OH GOD. There's nothing more perfect than marrying my favourite pretty boy with my favourite genre. It made me want to revamp the look of my blog, and no prize for guessing what version 3.0 theme would be ;)

(Half coherent) update from the music front
1) OMG Taeyang's single, Where U At? Are you kidding me? Look at the choreography. THAT IS SICK, MAN. And I like the fact that Evaristo and Beniga are kinda part of YG Family now, and are both certified Taeyang's fans, and Aimee might be appearing in the MV for Wedding Dress. And yes, the choreography. I was like :O and the lyrics made me go *dreamy smile* and alksjdsfhdsahjal. There's also 3 seconds cameo by Teddy-oppa, looking punk-ish and holding an apple (healthy punk? 0__o) and yeah, have I mentioned the choreography? *whistles* DAMN, YOU SEXY VIRGIN MAN BOY MAN-BOY? 0___o
2) DJ Tukutz left for military service OH NOES. No wonder they kinda speed up the release of [e]. So Epik High will be back in 2012 and Tablo is getting married in a few days time and I guess there will be time for family and babies for Tablo and Kang Hye Jung (I want pictures of YG Family during the wedding okay?)
3) And what is this I heard about the 5-years-no-boyfriend contract between the 2NE1 girls and YG, as well as Daesung's almost spot on remark, 'I'll wait 5 years then start a scandal?' Is my OTP becoming SO REAL that Yang sajangnim has to draw up a new clause of no boyfriend/girlfriend publicity for both Big Bang and 2NE1? (Kekeke sometimes I swear I love my own conspiracy theories too much :P) And what is this I heard about potential boyfriend going through physical/psychological test with YG before allowed to date any of YG artist, and Tablo admitting to going through the same thing for Kang Hye Jung? At this rate, Yang-goon seriously doesn't need any kid of his own because he's already taking care of SO MANY. XD
4) And WHEESUNG HAS ALREADY RELEASED HIS 6TH ALBUM, VOCOLATE, AND WHERE HAVE I BEEN ALL THIS WHILE? :O OH THE ATROCITY! I've watched his comeback stage and recent perf in DreamCon and MuBank, and I love it! While the boybands are suffering from so many stuff going on externally and internally, both of my favourite vocalists (Wheesung and Park Hyo Shin) made a solid comeback! How is this not a reason to rejoice? (I'm listening to Wheesung's 6th album now, will update later)
5) So many boybands are debuting? 0___o I rarely ever pay attention to new boybands (girlgroups are totally out of the question, I love 2NE1 and that's that. Others are...well, mediocre compared to my girls), but two of them, MBLAQ and BEAST caught my attention for obvious reasons: MBLAQ is under Rain/JTune Camp, and BEAST has SO-1 (the guy who got eliminated from Big Bang Documentary) and AJ (the kid who debuted solo as 'Rain's protege'), so I had to check them out, yes?
On MBLAQ: I was like 0__o when Zetty first told me of their name. MBLAQ? How do I even pronounce that? And how would the Koreans pronounce that? :P But having said that, I really liked the fact that their song is accoustic guitar-driven upbeat pop (am I making sense??), sorta pop with flamenco flavour. I like that a lot, because it stands out in the middle of all the dance/disco autotune pop nowadays. And one of them is rocking a moustache, much to my surprise! Talk about being different, MBLAQ has successfully capture (at least my) attention with being boldly different! The main guy kinda look like Hongki, and smiles a lot without coming across as too cutesy, which I also like. Overall, I can foresee myself checking out more of their stuff :)
On BEAST: They used to be called B2ST, then abruptly changed the name to BEAST, which puzzled me, because BEST and BEAST are two different things, and why would you call yourself a beast, especially when you're rocking the young-ish image and looks? And I thought their song is rather plain. Nothing new, nothing that rides the waves of current hits. The members that stood out the most are of course, AJ and SO-1 (who actually goes by his real name these days, but I can't for the life of me recall it right now), their dancing and voice (respectively,) are good, but I'm not very happy with the other two members who looked like two variations of GD. One is blonde (with a similar haircut with GD) and another looked too similar with GD in Gara Gara Go. Don't call me biased yet before you look at the preview for their MV. I never have qualms with transferable fashion, because come on, it's common, but it's kinda bad when you look at these two and go, 'G-Dragon? Two of them?' 0___o ESPECIALLY since they're so NEW and UNKNOWN YET, and first impression is everything in entertainment industry, yes?
But having said all that, I still think I'd continue to check out their stuff, if just for the sake of AJ and SO-1.
6) A.I., my favourite, favourite, favourite J-urban lady vocalist, has released her 2nd BEST OF album. I AM SUPER HAPPY! Waiting for it to finish downloading now. I can't wait to listen to 'BELIEVE' again, I love that song sofuckingmuch.
7) And Daishi Dance! HOW AM I SO IN LOVE WITH 'HOME' RIGHT NOW??
8) And if you guys haven't heard of Paloma Faith yet (yes she's from UK and no, we're no longer talking Kpop or J-music now), then PLEASE CHECK HER OUT. She brought back what I love so much about Amy Winehouse, Adele, Daniel Merriweather, ALL IN HER OWN FLAVOUR and WACKY FASHION. Love her voice, love her sound.
